Chuck Russom – Recording Guns (October 2014)

Chuck is a Game Audio veteran with more than 15 years experience working as Sound Designer, Sound Effects Recordist and Audio Director. Some of the franchises he has been involved are Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, God of War and James Bond. We had the chance to talk about the recording and editing process Chuck uses to create his libraries, as well as some advice for recording your own gun sounds.

Mikolai Stroinski discusses The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Soundtrack (December 2014)

I spoke to Mikolai Stroinski (The Witcher 3) regarding his critically acclaimed music score for the recently released indie title, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.  The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was nominated for Best Independent Game and The Witcher 3 was voted most anticipated video game at The Game Awards 2014.

Chance Thomas and the Music of Dota 2 (January 2015)

To start the new year I interviewed Chance Thomas on his recent work for Dota 2.  Released as part of the Compendiumin fall 2014, the score has been purchased by around 4 million people.  Chance has also worked on titles including the Lord of the Rings Online,  James Cameron’s Avatar, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, The Hobbit, Star Wars, Monopoly, Dungeons & Dragons, Heroes of Might & Magic, Left Behind, X-Men and many more.  Among his many other awards he was presented the GANG Annual Recognition award in 2013.  For more info on Chance check out his website at

Peter McConnell talks Grim Fandango Remastered (February 2015)

This month I spoke with Peter McConnell about his work on the remastered score for Grim Fandango.  Initially released in 1998, Grim Fandango received widespread acclaim and is commonly listed as having one of the best game soundtracks of all time.  It has now been remastered and released to a new audience, featuring an updated score. Outside of Grim Fandango, Peter McConnell has worked on an array of titles including Broken Age, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, the Sly Cooper series, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Psychonauts, and Brutal Legend.
